Why can't I open my Norton Internet Security?

I have tried to open Norton Internet Security and get a message saying "Unable to open this Norton product. Please restart your computer. Go to symantec support knowledge base". I restart my computer and get exactly the same message. The link to symantec provides no answer.

Now I know some of you are going to tell me to get rid of it all together, but I find I'm unable to uninstall it after I thought I might just do that and re-install.

I hate to let it go anyway because I've paid for it and it still has several months to go!!

been there seen it done it didnt bother with the tee shirt.. noticed norton always runs in the backround. slows the system down. went for mcefee .three years ago . no problems so far . thats life.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/ On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps.
Norton? I'm sorry! Can you get a refund? McAfee I have never had any problems with yet Norton was a NIGHTMARE. Good luck!!
The solution is easy!

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool from the Norton / Symantic website.

Then re-install.
