I have DSL and my computer runs very slowly and the problem is in my computer. How do I speed it up?

My ISP says the problem is in my computer after they checked the computer out. I have all the necessary security-McAfee-so spyware should not be a concern, but I just don't know. Thanks for any help!

well the best way, all though it might not look good, would be to right click on my computer, then go to advanced tab, then go to setting for performance. in there, dot the circle for "adjust for best performance". it look pretty bad graphics wise, but you should be running faster. There is also another way. go to run and type: msconfig. in that window, go to the startup tab and un-check all. unless you want to keep your anti-virus or second firewall. then exit and restart. these are the best ways i know of.

what your should do is "clean" your computer. that includes removing cookes, temporary internet files, and using disk defragmenter.

to do this, go to start--%26gt;all programs--%26gt;accessories--%26gt;system tools.

from there, choose "disk cleanup" to delete your cookies. a window will pop up asking you which drive to clean; choose drive C. then another window will pop up; just click okay and it will delete all those unnecessary cookies.
