What is the Best All-Around PC Security Software?

I want one or two programs, which I am willing to pay for that gives the best protection in terms of virus protection, virus removal, spyware, firewalls and web security and doesn't slow my computer down too much.

I currently have Norton Internet Security 2008, and it is great but it expires soon and I am wondering if there is a better one out there.

A hardware firewall, or a router with a firewall, and good housekeeping is all that is needed. The occasional scan with something like ClamWin doesn't hurt either.

I've used Avira Antivir and Spybot Search and Destroy for the past two years, and haven't had a single problem.

I've installed them on multiple computers for friends and family members, and they haven't had problems either.

Another plus is the fact that these are both free programs.
Kaspersky makes great products and they release updates every 1-3 hours
