Veoh ruined my computer!!?

I downloaded the Veoh media player on my computer so that me and my friend could watch some of the episodes from our favorite show (ANTM) that we have never seen before. I downloaded this player before and had no problem. But this time, I now have inapropriate pop ups, weird programs, security problems, and slowing down on my computer. I uninstalled it, but my computer has never been the same. I have to take my computer into the shop to get it fixed, but I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this when they downloaded the program?
